Dash and brake pedal vibrating when braking

When I brake the dash vibrates and the brake pedal vibrates (actually moving up and down under my foot). It isn't really noticable below 40 mph, but at 60 or 70 it's mental.
I started to notice it when I had just changed the wheels on my car. I took the 15" HGT alloys off my 1.4, and put the original steel wheels back on. Could it be related to this?? Someone said it sounds like my brake disks are warped?

definitely sounds like they could be warped, as for the wheel change i shouldn't have thought that would make a difference

Yeh it's possible they cud be warped because, I got them so hot once you could smell the brakes when you got out the car. This was about 4 months ago though, so I would have thought I would have noticed it before? Someone thought my wheels might need balancing again now I have them back on? Wouldn't have thought this would cause a problem like this only on braking though?

If it was the wheels then it would do it wether you were braking or not chap. Ddeffo sounds like the discs are warped as these ONLY come into play when you are braking.

When did you last have the discs changed?

Don't think they have ever been changed, car is a 1998, done 49k miles.

Any recommendations for new disks if I have to get some. I've seen some cheap OMP Sports Disks for £75.00 off Fast Fiat? Will I have to have new pads with new disks or could I leave the old pads on??

Check the BOO discounts link at the top of the main forum page for disc and pad offers from angeltuning. If not, OE ones will be fine

It's not worth scrimping on pads with new discs. Do the lot at the same time.

Abarth Valve Caps ;); Clear Repeaters; Supersprint cat-back;

New discs will NEED new pads. Don't be suckered in by fancy brand names like brembo or OMP on discs, they are ALL cast iron discs just like the £20 ones.

Black diamond discs don't stay black :)

Ive got exactly the same problem, im gunna go for some red dot 20 slots disks and fast road pads. You can get a BOO discount on these as well.
