What do you think of the heater dials. Pic not clear but looks really good. Trust Me

The Piesta Resistance. This thing took me all day to do, Drilling, soldering etc, etc.....
Took 36 High Vis Leds. Prob the brightest out there. It lights up me entire street LOL.

So tell me what you think

Cheers

W I C K E D! :) Excellent job m8! I'm planning on doing mine in a few weeks... Any specifics(
nasty fiat pitfalls, etc) on the center dash diss/assembling? It's real cool :) congrats

Wat is it that you are wanting to alter on the centre console.

Changing the colour of the LED or wanting to change the look of the heater dials??

I want to change the backlighting coulour but i've never actually taken the center off. I suppose the lights behind the heat, fan etc are all white and there's a green filter(scrapable i hope). Thought of replacing the bulbs with hyperLEDs and scraping anything green behind... Is this how you did yours?

My point before - i am worried about anything hidden and timeconsuming when it comes to taking the center off. I had a really bad experiance removing the clocks from behind the steering wheel(thought replacing a burnt dash bulb should take no more than 15 minutes ...took me 1.5hours :) )

All the lights are LEDs so you will need a soldering iron. All the icons on the buttons are 3mm LEDS and the parts that light up when they are on are 5mm LEDS.

There are 4 screws behind the stereo, so you will av to move the stereo.

The are 2 screws under the console just above the fag lighter. You dont need to remove the lighter tray or open it. Just feel above the lighter tray for 2 indents in the plastic.

There are 2 screws that are hidden. These are next to the fog light switch and external temp guage if you av one. The tabs can be removed with a small screw driver.

The last 1 is behind the fan control knob. Be carful with that one as I nearly lost metal clip that holds it in :(.

All the screws are allen types 4mm I think.

Just pull it away and remove the wire looms.

NOTE: If you only want to do the centre strip were the Fog lights and rear heater switch is. just remove the two screws from the side. You may need to get screwdriver behind it. Can be abit stiff to remove.

Should take about 20mins remove. Good Look ;)

Yes all the lights you see in my car are LEDS. Made everything myself. For the centre console I replaced the Leds. Had to buy some Blue LEDS for the heater dials as they went a greeny colour with the normal bulb.

The the dash, the bulbs were replaced with blue leds and 3 hours of scraping the green crap they put on.

The interior lights, the bulbs were removed and I replaced them with 36 High Vis blue leds drilled and glued into cover. Tried wood first but could see it and looked really tacky.

10x a bunch m8. I'm doing mine red(gotta match my sony CDX200s headunit) as my whole car's theme will be black/red. No worries about the fan selector clip as the previous owner must've lost a couple - this one's all covered up in superglue of somekind :)

Btw, did you consider/try this for your ceiling lamp?

seems like a good shortcut... i've decided to get one as soon as my Visa comes in. thank god they ship internationally :) Ever bought stuff from them? Anyone?

Thanx again for the guide :)

RAD

I bought all the dash bulbs from them and the bulbs behind the heater dials from ultraleds. They are really good. Mine came within 2 days, yours might take alittle longer if shipping international.

Already tied a similar bulb for the interior light. Looked good, but wasnt bright enough and was still lit faintly due to the fact they didnt use high enough resistors.

The link you gave, I think someone else has them and they said they were spot on.

<B>GREEN HEATER DIALS</B>

THE GREEN FILTER IS NOT SCRAPABLE. THE BLACK PART ALSO COMES OFF WITH THE GREEN. Thats why I designed my own, that and I wanted to be different. :)

hi, 10/10 for those! i think it looks great, now as mentioned above by someone else i want to do this aswell in red!

What is it that you are wanting to change?

Are you wanting the change all the button colours to RED led or are you wanting to change the heater dial colour?

If you want to change the heater dial colour it is more diffiecult.

The Leds are really easy, 3mm for the symbols and 5mm for the spots that say they are on.

Just remove the leds and space the new ones in the same way.

yeah i want to change them but also the heater controls :( will that be too much for me?

the fogs etc seem ok for me to have a bash at then...did you say you bought your leds from the above link?

cheers for your time

Paul R

You can buy all your leds from ultraleds.co.uk

The heater dial will be the biggest problem for you. You will have to design them, then print it on OHT paper.

I can do you a template that you can colour fill if this would help. You will need a program like photoshop or coral to this.

i dont have these programmes... if i was to send you money to cover your ime and cost could you make me a set? :(

my e-mail is [email protected] if you would prefer?

Paul R

hiya can you send me a copy of the templates or if you are making set for paul i could make a contribution for a set too

Lozz

Only got one sheet of OHT paper left reseverd for Paul R but I can send you the template. Need to know program that you would use and file extensions that you can import?

If you can give me your e-mail I will sent it to you.

I will do this for you and paul R ONLY.

Dont want to many people to look the same.

Nice to see my hard work is appriciated though :)

No problems, will e-mail them to you later.

2 little things that I ask.

1- If asked, that I designed them. My name is Stuart Roys

2- Once you have completed them, I get first pics of them.

TIP: You will need to get some coloured leds for them as the original bulbs turn it a funny colour.

I got these
http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=44_55&products_id=353

but they do other colours.

You will need to remove the old bulb and holder and solder these to the wires. Little bodge but it is worth it
