As i'm sure most of you know - the standard sound system in the Bravo is pretty crap the minute any kind of bass kicks in.

Does any one have any advice as to how i can improve it without spending a fortune? i am a complete stereo numpty so keep it in simple terms if poss!

I don't really want to spend over a tonne and would like to avoid 6x9's if possible because i'm always having to take my parcel shelf out to get my mountain bike in the car.

Is it the head unit that's crap or is it the speakers? or both?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Ta!

Right then, JBL would be the best bet (cheap and decent quality, i started on JBL), maybe a set of component speakers in the front (13cm in door)and rear(cant remember measurements)....(no need to cut up parcel shelf then). because of your budget you may be struggling, but get your self on ebay, you will be able tp pick up a cheap amp (4 way would be good starting point), you can wire up a JBL sub to this...they start at£30

cant really suggest much else. but they should do the trick

Kev :)

Sub

I've seen in a few Motor spares shops all in one subs n amps for around the ton mark. just make sure you have a pre output on the head unit and can find a way of running a lead from the battery to the boot then you should be laughing mahahhaha ;)

anything with an amp is gonna stray over the ton...

Re: Sub

cheers guys.
I don't want mammouth performance. Just want to be able to listen to my music at a reasonable volume without it sounding like ****. ie bass sounds like bass - not like someone farting out of my speakers!
Can i improve matters just by uprating the speakers? are sony xplods any good - i know i can fit them relatively easily.
Or should i just give up, find a stealth parcel shelf and some 9x5's and make sure they're easy to clip/unclip?

Re: Sub

Get some reasonable 6.5" components in the doors, not sonys :)

What is your budget?

Re: Sub

wilco do a buget spker 5x8 which will fit in front door panel(gotta sound better than whats there)
and maybe the same for the rear (not sure what size rounds)so thats fifty squid gone/now try to get a second hand graphic equilizer and thats what you call sticking to buget

or do as i did and buy 5x8 infinity kappa`s for front £60 then just fit a blackmarket hu
