Hi everyone,

I have just had a new clutch fitted to my bravo as i was advised the slipping would most likely be the clutch (it needed doing anyway so no big deal) but the car is still making the same noise and slipping.

Setting off gradually it is fine, but if you try to put your foot down in first / second gear, it tries to pull, and then it just starts making a whirring / metal on metal noise and the wheels judder with the revs on the engine just rising and rising (car doesnt move)

Any one got any ideas what this could be?

I have been advised by a professional that it is most likely to be the crown wheel that has come lose and possibly the pinion... They want to take the gear box out to find the problem

Any advice would be appreciated, cheers

It just does it anytime you put too many revs on and come off the clutch too fast, clutch is brand new so all i can think now is that its cogs somewhere between the wheels and the gearbox.

check the engine suspension, the upper one on the your left when you're infront of the engine bay.

if the engine rod (its a bone shape rod) is
weard out, the engine is moving back and forth which makes this particular noise.

check it out, you'll be surprised.

Would that also stop the power going to the wheels though and making a cog slipping noise with the wheels juddering?

tried not putting too many revs on and coming off ur clutch too fast?!!

I do, but it doesnt hide the fact that the problem is there, i only noticed it when i pulled out of a junction one day and needed to set off pretty quick and the power to the wheels just vanished.

It doesn't get driven stupidly but when you need to set off quickly, you would expect the car to do it
