Hello all,

my brothers 1.7 turbo diesel punto has a habit of quickly dirtying air filters because of the oil mist from the crankcase breather pipe which comes into the air filter box. the engine is not worn - only 100 k so it shouldnt be blowing excessively. We took the breather pipe off and diverted it into a small can, which was blackened with oil after a hundred miles or so. There is a sort of round shaped thing which the crankcase breather pipe goes into, this is fitted low down on the side of the block. this is clean and none of the pipes are blocked. It's not over filled with oil either.
Any ideas on what might be going wrong ?
