Hi guys, fitted some 6x9s in the parcel shelf atlast. I'm new to all this but eager to learn. I have wiring to the rear speakers but have never had any fitted until now. The wires wont stretch to the speakers and I was wondering how I go about extending them? Also What do I do about the connections? The wires have a yellow block on the end but the connection to the speakers are different.

first thing to do is to cut of the original connections (dont be afraid) noting which is + and - this will help as you wont have to test the sound after you have installed them to make your they are correct way round.

second is to lengthen the wires by connecting the old wire with new wire using block connectors. then attach spade connectors to each of the + and - of the wires as these will be used to connect to your 6x9.

and there ya go in simple terms jobs a good-en

cheers man, will i need to solder the wires to the speakers or will it simply be enough to wrap the wire round?

Use crimp connectors, twisting the wire together is not good.

Ok, just found some speaker wire from some old speakers of mine, plenty of it too. It is already crimped so that's sorted. Just need to connect the 2 wires to extend them.
