Timing belt tension

At the same time I renewed the auxiliary drivebelts I had a look at the timing belt on the 1.6 engine travelled about 59.000 kilometres. The belt was in a good shape, but one thing I noticed was that the tensioner pointer on the tensioner was not pointing the punched mark but was about 5 mm away (backwards) from it.

I have planned to renew the belt next autumn at the latest (about 5000 more kilometres). Is the tension ok (the belt felt quite tight), or should I reset it before the renewal (i.e. set the pointer to align the mark)?

i'm pretty sure they are self tensioning? isn't that the whole idea of the crappy plastic tensioner bit (the bit that usually fails)

DO NOT ADJUST THE BELT!!!! The pointer does not indicate the correct tension.

Also they are not self adjusting.
