my car was serviced last may at 18k, just approaching 28k now. do u think its worth getting it serviced again or is every couple of years alright? im worried about getting ripped off.. everything seems to be working fine, i check the fluid level every few wks. how often do u guys get yours serviced? also which spark plugs do u recommend? ive got a hlx, 99 model

First U need a engine size (1.2, 1.4, 1.6, ....) to get the spark plugs number. But everyone uses BOSH super 4.
And If Im right:
Air filter = 6 / 7 k
Oil = if its Selenia 20K than every 12 k
Spark plugs = 7 / 12 k depends on the spark plugs

I dont, iridium plugs r the best to use.

And i service my car every 6 mounths for oil, and eavery year or so for spark plugs.

iridium plugs are really ment for high temp turbo engines

Yup, designed for very high stress applications, bikes, turbos etc... They are prone to fouling and once that happens you throw them away.

The funny thing is the ground electrode (the bit that wears most) is the same material as every other plug out there.

I'd rather use a more conventional multielectrode plug and change it more often. You get a different flame front with multis compared to the old stype 'up and over' electrode plugs which for some reason the iridiums also use.
