Fiat Bravo JTD's Highly Recommended!!!!

I purchased my 2001 Bravo JTD HLX (Phase 3) just before Christmas and its a really good car but i was alittle disappointed in the performance. The performance wasn't too good on acceleration but when the turbo kicked in, it was fun. The turbo only lasted a few secs and died at 3500rpms, to my knowledge at the time i thought a rev limiter.

But.....

Anyway today i got the biggest grin of all after i replaced the Mass Air Filter Sensor with a new one as recommended by Nige (AngelTuning). The car is so much more faster and responsive than my previous Bravo 115 16V HLX, the car accelerates so much more quickly to 60 its astonishing. This diesel shifts. Dunno who wrote the 0-60 times for these cars but this car is under rated.

The car throws you into the back seats upon acceleration, its wicked.

The car sounds good even under hard acceleration, like my 115. I love this car.

I recommend a JTD to anyone, this is my 2nd diesel car and i doubt i'll ever go back to petrol ever again. Wasn't too keen on my non turbo'd 1st car so my 115 was a delight to own, but now the JTD is the king of the Bravos.

I don't even think its worth remaping, god knows the previous owner may of done it already, but however i'll still be paying Nige a visit.

I dunno, I help a guy out........ You wait, when its remapped you will be grinning from ear to ear!*
Now you see why I keep banging on about them - its not simply because we can tune them, they are bloody good to start with!

I agree... When they work! my fault list is growing, i seem to get a stop about 2700 - 2900 on acceleration when its like a big gust of wind slow me down but after that it continues to accelorate, is this a known thing, its just a small rev range where my power drops very quickly until i get past it, weird

but ye JTD great, superb economy, only really sound clatty when idling and thats nothing really compared to other modern diesels ive heard

My car had poor acceleration and the power disappeared at 3500rpms, but you may have the same fault as me. Could possibly be the MAF sensor like mine. However it will set you back £150 - £175 depending where you got it from.

Its a Bosch part so what i did was i went to www.bosch.co.uk, then dealer locations and did a search for dealers in the local area. Found a dealer within 1 mile and approx £25 cheaper than Fiat.


Nige i'll definately come for a remap but need save some pennys 1st.

If having to move off from a juntion quickly, as traffic is just sooooo heavy these days, I can not only easily spin the wheels in 1st without trying but also in 2nd as well, probably would do so in 3rd as well but I guess the road would have to be wet.

This is on a dry road and going in straight line....with a remapped JTD.

Would like to take it to Germany before the summer to see what it's top speed is?

Each year i drive to Poland for my holiday, got family there, so i know my Bravo JTD will be tested out in Germany. HAHAHA
