Hi

I need help...
I have a 2000 105 JTD, lovely car but as flat as a fart. any ideas other than its shagged?

It has full dealer service history and now ready for next service. Would this have an affect, it did on my old renault. The turbo sounds like its working but everything goes dead at around 3500rpm. Pulling out of junctions is an experience...

PLEASE HELP...

You Mass airflow sensor (MAF) is shagged. It wont bring up a diagnostic code though.
Drop me an email with your location and I will send you a price.

Long shot, but my mum has a Hyundai Coupe and a few months ago she lost all her oomph outta it. Took it to the garage, and they said it was the spark plugs.

I dunno if it could be the same problem, but it could be worth a try?

Diesels don't have Spark Plugs mate.

Diesels use Glow Plugs.

Told you it was a long shot ;)

Just thought I might try to help lol.

I ain't really into cars tbh, but certainly am getting into them now, with thanks to this board.

You learn something new every day.

Just to reiterate what Nige said, it will be the MAF sensor. Its a Bosch unit and not sure what nige can do it for but from fiat expect around £130 IIRC. Evo engineering sell 3 bar fuel pressure regs for the coupe for £105, I rang a Bosch supplier and got it for £49! Not trying to take work from Nige but look around is all Im saying

If the Bosch "type" one you got is from Pierberg be very wary! they dont always work on the Fiats, we have tried them.
Fiat are £131 + VAT, Pierberg is £49.95+VAT but they dont fit correctly or always work!
If that isnt from Pierberg let me know, asI will be interested to try them as we fit at least one a week and I am always up for saving customers money

Hi Nige,

I Took your advice on getting a new MAF sensor. I did try cleaning my old one but it went worse, so i got a Bosch part from Andrew Page LTD for £152 inc VAT.

Fitted it within minutes and discovered the real power of the JTD, oh my god.

When i bought the car i thought it was sluggish and the revs topped out at 3500rpms but after changing the MAF sensor all i can say is wow.

It's so much punchy now i almost shat my pants. I can red line it everything.

Thanks Nige, much appreciated on the free help. I will be in touch though around April to arrange a Remap.

Thanks Nige.
