Heating Blowing Cold`

Situation is:

When the car is turned on and warms up. Heating set to blow hot works fine.

After 5 - 10 minutes without touching the controls the car starts to blow colder and colder until it blows cold.

If you turn bower off or heating down to cold for 5 minutes and then turn back on, it blows hot for a couple of minutes and then blows cold again.

If you turn on the demister it blows hot all the time on the windscreen.


I have a y Reg Fiat Brava.

I'm suprised Tom hasn't answered this one...

I'm certainly no expert, but i would guess at you may have air in your system.

Your thermostat may also be sticking.

Odd that the demister works.

What engine size and what does the temp guage on the dash do while the heater is being silly?
