Please advise, just ad a new section of exhaust fitted to my 1.4 sx Bravo (front cat section) the garage at the time indicated that the cat had totaly disintigrated!! Just before and since having this done the car's performance has declined, some mornings it seems that the car is running on Kangaroo juice and on all occasions when traveling up the gears the car reaches a certain point and will not perform any further. In 4th & 5th gear I am struggeling to hit the 70mph mark.

Good news is the car has just passed it's MOT but the garage has indicated that the lack of performance could be a result of the exhaust being blocked from the debris of the cat.

Question will the midsection of the exaust collect the crap or would it require both mid and back sections replacing.

Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers

Al.

Don't think you will need the rest of the exhaust replacing, but you should probably get a new cat (surprised you got through the MOT!!) and while it's being replaced you could get the bits out of the rest of the exhaust...

cats are expencive try cleaning it first, you can get stuff that cleans them and removes a lot fo the carbon "cataclean" maybe or something like that.

i know tom recently bought an aftermarket cat, might be worth asking where he got his and how much it was

Sorry troops, the CAT is new...

Just been in touch with te garage who fitted the back section of the exhaust, it would seem that they still aknowledge the warrenty and have replaced the back end FOC the car is running like a dream again...

Cheers

Al
