Well the old zorst has gone to Paul R. (nice bloke) and in it's place, i have the more modest sounding standard hgt exhaust.

Just thought the whole thing was hilarious - an exhaust swap at a service station!











Oooh, and it's still for sale too! Although i'm trying to get mum to have it instead!

when do we get to see your new HGT then Paul? You pleased with it - noticed the extra speed from the 1.8?

The HGT is under rapps for a little while! I havent drivin it yet as the engine needs some work.... I am still in too minds wether i should keep it or sell it because the insurance is very high for me! but i do have some very nice plans if i decide to keep it! Nothing major though, just little touchs!

Quick q bout the zorst, is it supposed to rattle when putting the foot down? It only rattles a bit, but i was wondering if it was 'bedding in' or anything?

Anyway, it's still on and keeping my car quiet, so that's good news!

Oh, and door cards shouldn't be a prob.

Although not sure of a price, but maybe you can make one up, then we can work from there? (Not a silly price though... )

And i STILL haven't posted you the receipt (sorry!) - just need to get a stamp, or hope that my work can pay for the postage!

£5!!!lol...No rush on the reciept, just when you can... I will have a think on the price for the comps, it depends on how much the cards will cost!

As for the exhaust, it shouldnt rattle... next time is see you i will have a listen, it may just be a heat sheild or something lose and touching the exhaust... is it loud? if its the actual exhaust and it bothers you then i will try and source another pipe for you!

It's really just on start-up or whilst pressing the pleasure-pedal (accelerator). Not sure if it requires a new one - i would have thought that a bit drastic! Can't remember what the underneath properly looks like, although i think the rattle's coming from the middle box?

I dunno, i'll have a listen. I think my mum's warming to the car too, so maybe i wont have to sell it!

Although i think she does want something less powerfull...

Either way, i don't think it's too much of a prob

well under the car you have heat sheilds which protect the underside of the car from the heat of the exhaust, now one of these maybe lose and touchig the exhaust but only touches when the exhaust moves the most ie on start up... It could be that i disturbed one whilst fitting it... well if its the exhaust then i will try and get one for you, if you are ok with it then run it for a while and see if it gets worse, i wont be going anywere so i will be able to sort it out if thing do get worse!

As for the comps, i really dont want to insult you so i think its best that you send me a ball park figure as i dont know how much they owe you or how much you want in your head? You have my mobile just send me a price like you did with the exhaust....Or just have a think more, i am in no rush, i will work around you!

It was like a constant loud fart!
That car you could hear for ages as it left the service station and was on the m25! They must've met there to go to southend or something?!

Either way, like i mentioned, i really don't think it's a big problem at all. I just noticed it on start-up and a bit on accelerating. Didn't sound major though, so don't let it worry you!

The guy said he can be free to see the 5 this weekend, but i need a lift up there! and it's not actually cambridge, but somewhere up the A10 (Begining with an "R"?!)

Anyway, elephant won't insure me due to the silicon hosing in the car

So i've gotta start fresh from another insurance company! Not good!!!

Oh, and loudest car i've ever heard was a corsa on the way to Trax 2004.


This thing sounded like a spitfire! No joke, when it slowly overtook us on the motorway, the vibration and noise was immense! I cannot explain it other than some nutty prop plane!

In all fairness, the lady that was dealing with me was fantasic. Over about a week of ummming and ahhhing she kept me constantly updated with what the underwriters were doing etc.
