Took my Bravo JTD in for an ECU diagnostic to get to the bottom of the recent sluggish performance problems. Error code came up for the Fuel pressure regulator. Fella in the garage is checking the price of a replacement with Fiat.

Any ideas how much this will sting me for? Is it a complicated bit to replace?

Also is this a common problem on JTDs and will it sort out the lack of power I've been experiencing?

Never heard of one going but certainly aint a difficult job to replace. Whether or not FIAT bend you over for the part is another matter
And yeh it could be the cause of loss of power but a very common fault on the JTD's is the Bosch MAF sensor. Worth a diagnostic check I reckon cos if its gone it will feel like you're driving on N/A diesel, cos you effectively are.

Had a diagnostic done and the MAF didn't show up as a problem, the Fuel Pressure Regulator was the only error code. The garage (independent) is checking that this is the problem and not just the result of another problem. However given what I've heard I guess it's only a matter of time till the MAF breaks.

N/A = Naturally Aspirated

I think he means the performance is like driving a diesel without the turbo...
