The garage can get no reading from the ECU and are getting no spark

option 1 is to retry the original ecu instead of the superchip (this will likely have no effect I think as the aftermarket chip is a remap but shouldnt effect error codes etc...)
option 2 is a new ecu box...how much, how easy to do, will it bugger my immobiliser etc, what specialist tools would be required?
I've got the red key if that helps
