Help with private plate

Hi all.
as most of you will know, my car is for sale. I bought the car as 'S371...' and later bought the reg number 'N111NOY'.

I want to keep my private plate, but what happens to my bravo. Do I get a new plate from the DVLA or do /i just revert to the old one.

Cheers guys.

Jay

Re: Help with private plate

Easiest way to find out is to ring the DVLA mate

Re: Help with private plate

you'll have to buy a new one, if you want to retain the origianl plate you have to pay 120 a year to keep it on the back burner

Re: Help with private plate

My mistake, from the DVLA-SOM webby:

How can I retain my registration number?

You will need to complete a V778/1 - Retention of a Vehicle Registration Number application form. Application forms can be obtained from DVLA's network of local offices. The cost to retain a registration number is 105.

re

correct, you pay the 80 transfer fee to swap the plate off, and 25 for the retention certificate.

the dvla will 95% of the time issue the original number plate back onto the car when they transfer your private plate off.

when i used to sell plates i'd tell people to keep their original plates somewhere in caes they ever swapped the private plate off, would save them 15/20 quid for getting the original plates made up again!

Re: re

cool, the way i read it sounded expensive and was holding me back from getting a private plate

i think J 5 HGT will do nicely

j's HGT with a little tinkering

I want to die peacefully in my sleep like grandpa, not screaming like the passengers in his car!
