1st and foremost DONT GO TO NATIONAL!!!
Why? I called them up and asked if they could replace my pads as there was grinding from brakes and i knew they needed doing. They said i would be a simple 20 minute job at 65 pounds price all in. When i got there i left the car with them and went had a 20 minute walk and when i came back they had done nothing when one of the shitbags said "company policy wont allow me to change those pads as your discs are too worn and i could be held responsible if you have an accident etc". I said what are my options and he said "we do you discs & pads now or you can leave as you are". So i said "surely i am at more risk with duff pads on allegedly duff disks, than with new pads on allegedly duff disks". He went silent. Anyway i gave him the benefit of the doubt and said do the lot as long as i can take my old disks home with me, which he was ok with. He said it would take 40 minutes to sort it all out. So i went for another walk. Came back and they had done **** cos he forgot they had no discs so one of the kids there went out and bought some back which took 45 mins. Then i waited in there 'area'. in the end it took two hours to sort not 40 minutes and when i showed my pops the old disks he said they were fine condition. 5 days later i went to have my front tyres changed (at a different place) and the tyre man said that NATIONAL had shreaded the wheel bolt threads when putting the wheels back on my car after disk fitting and that only 1 bolt on each wheel had any bite left. He also said my wheel hubs were lucky not to have been damaged (which are expensive to replace). Apparantly i was very lucky not to have had an accident and if not for my tyre change due i would have!!
I went back to national to shame them and all they offered was new wheel bolts. i should have taken them to the bridge on all that!
phew...I hope ive enlightened you before its too late and we end up meeting on watchdog.
