Engine coolant sensor will be around the thermostat area probably.

1.4 has no inlet air temp sender ir I remember correctly.

wheres that? really sorry, dont know anything bout engines. could you get a pic for me, or tell me in more detail. i am very grateful for this as i have tried everything!

Try a haynes manual I have a 1.6, not a 1.4
