i've had a small leak from the gearbox and took it to the garage today hoping it was just a driveshaft seal or a gaiter but the garage is saying the leaking is coming from the casing of the gearbox and has quoted me £650.00 for a recon gearbox and clutch? how does that sound?

I would buy a gearbox from a scrappies and buy a new clutch from a reputable distributor.
