FIAT BRAVO HGT TURBO... !!!

Ok, so what's with hte title?

Yes, it's true. A week ago some guy from Coratia (about 130 kilometers from my city / 80 miles?) owns a 1996 Fiat Bravo HGT with a Fiat Coupe 2.0 Turbo 220HP motor. But, to spice it all up, it's tuned. So the mentioned bravo has 270 horse powers (with runing on the normal turbo bar level, if you lift the bar, you get little bit more than 300 hp out of it), he changed the whole exhaust system, modified the ECU and that's pretty much it.

But the "best" part is...the car is for ****in' sale.... and i have no money to buy it ://

The price may be a little to big for a 1996 bravo, cause it is around 27.000 DEM / 12.000 Euro /7500 pounds, and, considering that I own a 1998 bravo which is worth around 6600 euro / 4200 pounds here, I still can spend those 3300 pounds on the engine transplant and all and I believe that I could manage to do the same....but it still is a beast...Probably the fastest car in our country if a guy from my city (ljubljana, I was told that sb from Ljubljana is a really potential buyer) buys it...

I'd love to have a 270HP Bravo tough.... ;) Wouldn't you? :)

other info + pic...

So, it has a custom color, 16' wheels (205/?/16 - it should be from the coupe itself), and it has everything (ABS, airbags, air con, ...) except the leather (hehe, i got leather, i got leather in mine :p)

this is the only pic so far...i hope i'll get some more ;)

cool. i want one!

see if you can get a pic of the engine bay, would be really interesting! also (i know this is asking a lot) but could you find out how difficult it was to fit in all in?

riclemus

p.s. the bonnet vents are on upside down.

OOH

This is gorgeous how hard was it to transfer all the stuff over cos i want to do it to mine!!!!! I need more info!

more info :)

Hey

Well..If the car is going to be sold into my town..i'm surelly gonna locate the owner and ask him some questions...

but till than, i can't say anything about the modification as i haven't seen the car in action...yet ;)
but i can post you this adress:

:) (this is another bravo, from italy)

Kerro

I had an email form the owner of the red one and basically he said the whole thing fitted in without any problem, but there was a basic amount of re-routing to do for the plastic to fit which is n't beyond the basic mechanic.

However, his e-mail was in Italian and I tried translating the best I could but it may have actually read - dont do this as your mother's pasta tastes as bad as a horses butt! I will go with the first paragraph!

.

come on boys, it aint hard to do it, ive done a 16vt lump into my tipo :)

But on a serious note, you would basically need the whole front of the car (well i would) the hgt owners it might be easier, coz the loom would be nearly the same, but you would need, engine, g'box (will use the same mounts as you) driveshafts, hubs, brakes, ecu, keys and yes as nigel said some re-routing and making a couple of brackets for the intercooler and oil cooler.

When i did my conversion it took me about 10 - 15 days in total to swap engines and do all the brackets etc :)

Re: Kerro

hehehe.

Those Italians!!!! Crazy I tell you CRAZY!!!!

engine swap in Slovenia...

...is hard! :)

The law, the cops, everyone would try to f**k me up, if they find out that i swaped the engine. It's really difficult to do it and still make it all legal :(

If it would be any easier, I'd have a whole Coupe (wrecked a bit, but still for use for the swap) from Italy (hey, i'm from Ljubljana, 60-80miles from Italy :D) ower here on my backyard in 5 days for like 2000 euro :) The whole car! :)

Re: engine swap in Slovenia...

Are you selling that coupe for 2000 euro?? or am i getting mixed up.

Re: Re: engine swap in Slovenia...

i think he was saying he could get one from italy , alightly wrecked for 2000 if it was easy for him to make the swap? :)

Re: Re: Re: engine swap in Slovenia...

nice one. i'm crap at understanding what people are saying.

that coupe for 2000

hehe, well, i'm to fu**in' lazy to write it better :)

Yep, I can get a slightly wrecked coupe 2.0 turbo for around 2000 euro from italy and use lots of parts :)

but the swap is not easy - if you look only at the law stuff, the mechanic work is simple comparing to the **** you can get in, if you do it without all the papers and the test and the other crap..

want to transplant a engine like this too!!

I am a proud owner of a fiat bravo hgt. I am very surpriced that it is possible to change engine with a coupe 20v turbo. I like to do this by my car too.
My question is where can i get a 20v turbo engine, the gear the fuel injection kit and all i need for this transplantation. Maybe someone can help me??
