I have a '99 155hgt in Broom Yellow which I got last August and in that time the only thing I don't like is the brakes. They don't feel up to the job. Can anyone recommend a good upgrade package and is there anything I should be wary of?

Also, I've had a look at the back box and the first signs of rot are becoming apparent. Can anyone recommend a good stainless package? Not looking for power just wan't to change it when I have to any never worry about it again. Preferably looking for something that avoids changing the rear as the Bravo is just damn fine as it is.

Here's hoping that SPs a goodun for all - wish I could come along but already had a Dublin **** up booked before I found you all so maybe come along to something later in the year.

Cheers all,

Al.

Hi Al, depends how much your willing to spend on brakes.
I paid near on £400. for Red-Dot 20 groove front and rear discs with fast-road pads, but i don't really think they were worth the money, no big improvement.
If it's you planning on the 20v turbo conversion i read on another post, then you could fit the fiat 20v coupe front brakes and calipers. They fit on behind 17's, but would would have to make a new mounting bracket to hold the 4-pot caliper. If your considering this i can put you in touch with someone who's doing this at the moment.
Anternatively Tar-Ox do a 10-pot caliper and big brake conversion!!! But it costs £1700.

I think Sy is refering to me on the Brembo upgrade.
Are you Sy or am I going crazy!! lol

It looks like The sandwich plate will be made up next month at which point I'll be able to put them on. They are from a Fiat Coupe 20v turbo with 305mm vented disks.

I would think they will be as good as breaks can get but I wont Know until they go on. My dad has Brembos on the front and rear of one of his motors as standard! and all I can say is wow!! Amazing breaking performance.

The Brembos are quite pricey thought to say the least. at the moment I have a set of EBC turbo drilled and grooved disks with green stuff pads. Once warmed up they are very good. Very good value for money too. About £120 for the lot.

hope that helps

Cheers for the advice guys. Looks like these green stuff pads crop up quite often. I take it they're not 1700 quid....

Like the other ideas but I'm trying to keep the car as standard as poss as, lets face it, the Bravo is great to look at anyway. Ain't that view of the rear wings in the door mirrors one of the best things you've ever seen? Therefore, any upgrade will have to fit behind the standard 15"'s.

I've tried fastfiat for the exhaust but they all look as though I'd have to change the rear end. Any stainless tubes out there that don't?

Ho hum!

Red dot, EBC, Tarox, Diamond etc.. all good brakes. I use red dot. Last time I had anything to do with EBC green stuff they were dire but looks like they have got their act together in the last couple of years.

Surely you could get a powerflow exhaust made up with a normal tailpipe?

New to this fella. Used to driving sub £300 quid sheds which you just wouldn't waste the money on. Cheers for the hint tho'. I'll look into it.
