Hi all, wonder if anyone can advise me on the following???

1) Is it possible to make the rear wiper park in the middle of the screen, then when you turn it on to still sweep the entire screen, sort of make it park half way through it's cycle?

2) What size are the speakers in the doors and the dash-board tweeters? anyone recomend replacements. (looking for a balance of quality and price)?

3) Am I the only 1, or does everyone find Bravo headlamps to be crap? Unless I ride the fogs, or use full beam, I can hardly see. I've had 4 warnings for the fogs already (but no tickets)? Will the marea poly-eliptic headlamps fit?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Tony.

Why do you want to do that?

Think you will find the majority of fiats have crap headlights

Re: ?

The front speakers are 5x7 inch in the doors with tweets on the dash, practically nobody makes 5x7 speakers but you can make/buy an adapter plate to fit 13cm ones...

I changed my headlight bulbs for Osram Cool Blue ones and Halfords laser blue side bulbs, the difference is amazing !

Sorry for being a bit thick but I put Halfords "Laser Blue" lights in my dipped/main beam but they don't seem to be any different to the original fiat bulbs and definatly don't appear "blue".

Do I need to put the same in the sidelights as well?

Cheers

Blue ?

Yeah, think it's down to the side lights, as they give off yellow-ish light and are on when the others are on.

Changing the side bulbs for the blue ones gets rid of the yellow tint and give a bright white lamp.... But it ain't blue it's white... apparently they have an occasional blue tinge from a distance but not your Audi/Merc/NewPunto look...

(If you care....
The Audi/Merc (yeah plus others I know) is from having Xenon lamps (or HID-High Intensity Discharge) lighting which runs on a totally different system -and voltage. Retro fit this would be £500 minimum. The Punto is apparently down to the lenses - and if you ask me is Bl**dy annoying.

Re: ?

Can't agree about the headlights. I don't think anything has been done to mine but I find them exceptionally bright. What is the difference with the Marea lights ?

I'm sure it is possible to be able to make your rear wiper stop in the middle if you want to.

I have taken mine apart after it had seized once. The motor is operated by a timing disk which acts as a switch.

When you push the wiper stick, electric power is initially connected to the motor via the wiper stick switch, and the wiper begins to turn. The timing disk also turns, and as it does, overrides the wiper stick to continue connecting power to the motor via electrical copper tracks (I think they are mounted on the largest gear inside the unit). Hence when you let go of the wiper stick the motor keeps turning for a complete wipe cycle.

If you were to closely examine the copper tracks on the timing disk (you will see them once the unit is apart), I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to determine the start and end cycle points, and then with a knife, carefully cut a small section of the track out in the middle (wide enough so the sprung connection metal can't contact). The motor would then be turned off at this point, and you would have to push the wiper stick again for it to continue.

problems

Yes the lamps are poor and so are the marea ones so its not worth swaping .i drive round on main beam with the level switch at min ...i have done this for a long time with no problems ......ok its not nice and takes a bit getting used to but it does help
