I recieved a universal induction filter for my 1.2 16v Bravo as there is no induction kit available for this car. Trouble is the standard hose (engine to filter) is too short so it sits too high stopping the bonnet from shutting (ouch), also how do I get the air box out? If anyone can help me with these two problems I would be a very grateful bloke!!

Air box removal

Put car wheels on full lock undo a few screws and remove the wheel arch liner, pull the air unit out through wheel arch

hose?

Where did you get this kit from? Is the hose of a decent quality? It's obviously very important that it's stiff enough not to collapse and starve the engine.

You could contact the supplier and ask for a longer hose, or you could stick it all in the bin and buy a reputable straight-replacement filter (e.g K&N, ITG) that fits in the existing airbox.

To be honest I don't think any induction kit will make much difference to the 1.2: it seems to breathe pretty well as standard.

KN Do rule

Sounds like you got a bit of a donkey.....

The K&N Air filter fits quite happly in a 80SX (I know I own both the car and air filter). Makes it sound meaty for a small car.

Andy, You need to keep the air box where it is. Other wise the induction kit will not be taking in as much cold air as is possible. The more cold, dense air the better. Ask any induction speacialist and they'll tell you the same thing.

Leave the air box where it is and take the pannel filter out so in effect it will be passing cold air straight through to your induction kit.
