Just a thought....

You may have come across this but, you should find an adjustable slider bar/knob that adjusts the orientation setting of the CD read heads.

I can't recall exactly, but if you have the slider in one position and it's set for horizontal, the middle selection for 45 degrees, and final selction for vertical. If this isn't setup properly, then your CD's will jump and at worse, possibly damage the CDs aswell

My CD'Changer is fastened to the side of the boot compartment, and so is positioned vertically. Check the docs if you have them to hand.

Hope this helps

On the side

The angle variator (sounds posh) is located on the side of the unit. When you look it will be very obvious. If not email me and I will return a piccy of one.

Re: cheers again

The angle thang is just basically a big screw head. and yes it does need to be oriented correctly. But saying that it didn't make much difference to mine.
I found it all depended on the CD that was playing, some never skipped, and some skipped all the time, and this was brand new CD's as well !!
I have just ripped my HiFi out and replaced it with a Sone Cassette head unit and Sony MP3 playing Boot changer and it's sooooo much better.
I used the Halfords dash adapter and it all worked fine.
The only thing I found was that the hole in the dash has rounded corners and the metal sleeve that the head unit slides into would not fit. I had to take my dremel mini grinder to my dash so square off the holes so that it would fit.
Running the cables to the boot changer was easy peasy as well. A few screws to take the glovebox out, and then use a big screwdriver to prise up the cover at the bottom of the door frames to slide the cables in and hey presto job's a goodun :) 2 hours from start to finish. I went to my local dealers to get them to remove the original radio.

seems to be every cd

i'll have a look at it, but someone mentioned to me that it maybe the time at which the unit reads the cd, real time or 10 seconds ahead of the cd, if you know wot i mean, my unit is in the boot on brackets horizontal. maybe i should just get some fella out to take a gander at it, cant be too expensive.

CD skipp,skipp,skipping

My CD player has always skipped and I don't have a clue
why - tried all the advice on twisting the alignment
to cd cleaners and even put some special thing in
that sucked any moisture out and still it don't
work right.

When you find out - lets us know as its driving me
mad !
