Engine fell out!

No, it didn't, but the back + front wipers & washers, coupe-fan & cig.lighter stopped functioning. No fuses are blown. After one day parked in the sun, it started to work again, but I'm not sure that the heat did it, cus next day it stopped working again.

Anyone had similar problem?

Is there any known remedy?

Thankful for any help!

not ignoring you...just not helping you

That one has me baffled. You say the fuses are ok, do they all run of the same one? Just wondering if it is a loose conection somewhere. When they work, do they work all the time. I.E. engine off or on?

Re: not ignoring you...just not helping you

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, when it works, it works perfectly - engine of or on - doesn't matter, but when it started to work again, I noticed that, a few times when I tryed to start the engine, I had to do it 4-5 times before it started + it feels like there's more power from the engine, when the mentioned electrical stuff didn't work. I know the last thing sounds weird & it is possible that it's just my imagination.

Is there any logic in this?

Have a look at

the "ignition relay" which controls these items. You should find it on the back of the fuse box to the right of the steering column. There are two or three relays there, and it's the right hand yellow one.The other yellow one does the horn I think.
Take down the trim bit above the accelerator pedal and with a torch and a mirror you might see it!
Hope this helps you.

Hmmm...

You say problems also with starting the engine, and more power when it's running... If you have no luck with the above it sounds like it could be a bad earth or a break in one of the earth leads somewhere.

A good auto electrician should be able to find a bad earth and fix it in less than an hour easy, so £40 max.

Just a thought, but sounds similar to what happened on my girfriend's cinq a few months back...

Re: Hmmm...

As soon as I read this I was think that it sounds like a dodgy earth.

If possible jack the car up at the front and have a look and the earthing points in the engine bay, perhaps your car has been in an accident and the earth points have been sprayed over causing the earth not to be made properly, happend to a car of mine, caused very very strage problems.

connectors?

Worth mentioning that, according to the RAC bloke when he found a loose connector in my Seicento, that Fiat's connectors are 'crap', and cause most of the faults that they're called out to

Funilly enough, they don't get called to see many Fiat's these days, apparently. Tends to be Vauxhalls, Fords and Rovers... He hadn't been called out to a Skoda for ages either.
