I've got a corsa at the moment, but i've decided that i want something abit different.
I'm gonna get a bravo HGT. could someone tell me whats the difference between a red key and a blue key? (apart from that their different colours). What should i look for when buying my car? Any help will be appreiated. cheers andy

Red key blue key

The blue key is the key you use for unlocking and starting the car. The red key is used to reprogram other keys you may need in the future. It's to do with the engine imobiliser. It also has other uses which are explained in the users manual you get with the car.
Don't buy a Brava/Bravo without a red key it'll be very expensive to replace. Hope you get one though coz they're excellent cars. Also try ang get a 1999 T reg onwards coz they're put together.

What I mean't to say is they've been upgraded slightly and the dash board and other inner trim is made from better materials.

cheers

thanks for the replys peeps. I cant wait to get it. i've saw one in leeds (i'm from manchester) that looks promising! I'm just shopping around for insurance. Anyone know any cheap insurance companies?

Red key/Blue key

The blue key is the key used for day to day driving.
The Red key is a master key and should be kept in asafe place as if you need to get a replacement key the Red key is the only way to get one .If you lose the Red key and need to replace the Blue key it can be difficult and costly.

When buying a used Fiat Bravo/Brava,warm up the Engine and then open the Front windows about half way and check for a smell of petrol. This is a problem I have and it is very difficult to solve also depending on mileage check if the cam/timing belt has been replaced (it should have been replaced at 70K.)The rear wiper can seize up on early models also when operating the rear wiper listen when it is parked for a clicking noise from the motor (you can hear it inside the car)if it is clicking the wipe contacts for the park control are not connecting properly, this can be tricky to fix.contact me for any other questions.

red key/blue key

take the red key and you will wake up, everything will be normal. Take the blue key and I'll show you how deep the rabbit hole goes ;)

red key

the red key is not just for getting keys cut,it is possible to get this done without a red key.
a red key is the only key that is coded to the enginemanagement so if you lose red key your e.c.u is unservicable
