On accelerating from stationary, my hand brake light comes on, and the car will also lose power(feels like its deccelerating!)at the same time. Wots wrong and what can i do about it?

And one more question guys, What are the side affects of having too much engine oil??

Please help!

Problems

Regarding overfilling your engine with oil then it can create excessive crankcase pressure and blow out the engine oil seals though you'd soon be aware of that with possible oil leaking into the clutch housing. Take it out again through the drain pug and refill more carefully.

As regards the handbrake light remember it's also a low brake fluid warning light and also a brake disc pad wear light and on some cars an ABS warning light too. If you're definitely feeling the car slowing down when the light is on then you could have a serious fault for instance if you have ABS and should have the car fixed straightaway. It's a warning light that should never be ignored so if you're not sure then get it checked out! If your brake fluid level is low or a faulty sender then this might put the light on under acceleration but you shouldn't experience car slow down at the same time. There's always a possiblity that the handbrake might be coming on somehow but just how I can't imagine.
Don't mess with brakes. If you're not sure get someone who does know!
Hope that helps
Brian
