I currently own a Punto 60S (1998 R) which I am considering changing to a new Bravo/a.

I've never had a problem with it, touch wood (although to be fair it's only done 20k !) . I've always loved both the Bravo and Brava, and as they are currently offering 3 yrs warranty, 0% finance, etc. I think it's the right time to change.

However, I'm a little concerned about reliability. Reading through some of the Forum, people seem to have had quite a few problems with their Bravo's. Compared to other cars people have had, are these reliability/build quality probs worse ? Should I go for the new Punto instead ?

Can anyone help ?

Many thanks.

speaks for its self

I have a 97 marea turbo diesel. its basicly a bigger brava looks exactly same inside and same mechanics. It has done 121,000 miles and is still perfect, comfortable quiet and fast......
it has a few silly problems like the temp readout is erratic and the airbag light comes on now and again, but nothing major
I love it

new Model

Hi Rob,
The Bravo/a is a good car, i've driven mine pretty hard on Irish roads for 18months and haven't had to do anything outside of standard servicing yet. i do have a few squeeks and rattles that need looking at but that is a tribute to the roads rather than the car i suspect. However, the new model isn't far off, which is probably why the dealer has some good offers on.
The new Punto sporting or HGT look like cracking little cars so you can't loose i reckon.

Cheers,
Colm.
