Cafe meet Midlands Italia meets Cymru Italia

A40 Huntley 10am

Travel through Forest of Dean to Clearwell for 11am

2 great cafes on interesting roads :)
Count me in.

BUT!

The invite is a bit vague.
What is "Notfar"? I guessed perhaps a cafe name, but Google fails to find it.
The postcode in the invite, on Google Maps sits in the middle of a residential cul-de-sac.
Google Earth does not show any obvious lay-by for a meeting point.

There's the Laurels Residential home, or a cat rescue centre, doubtful a warm welcome at either.

Less of a challenge might bring more enthusiasm, please.

The 'maps' are always odd in rural spots

The Garden Centre and tea room (see updated map) are 1st stop - an easy 15 mins from M5

2nd stop..and Destnation.. is Clearwell caves excellent cafe

Easy for the Welsh contingent..just up from Monmouth.. (or Chepstow)

I realised that Winter is nearly with us.. and with MITCAR getting later and later.. it was Toofar for me in Autumn

Hence my 'attempt' at naming this meet
(A throwback to when we 1st visited Clearwell in @2014)

Thanks :)

Stroud isnt easy from me ' half way up the Severn Estuary'

But I will check it out
go down birdlip hill, turn left, go down a very nice a-road a short way, stroud. I tend to look at chelts, gloucester and stroud as basically be same place lol

Hi :)

Certainly (y)

We are a group of car enthusiasts..
In November not many are bothered about 'shiny'
more interested in how well it goes..stops..and the bit in between

(One of our earlier visitors on this run had a VERY quick Seicento.. same motor as yours started with)

Which county does your 'hour' bring you from..?

We have covered most on this run :)

Just outside Bristol

10am meet at the Fairview Gardener as planned

It turns out Clearwell close for November ( do Xmas stuff in December)..

so we will see how many of us are in Birdwood at 11'ish and have a little drive accordingly

Locals are free to suggest a location for @12 noon :)

The Fairview Gardener has a very good Cafe :)

Car parking space at Clearwell was massive.. hence its suitability for a busy meet

There is a food pub 1/4 mile from the Fairview ( does CoachParties..)

But maybe @blu73 knows of a better option? There were @20 cars in the video posted on youtube

Weather and FuelAffordability might make that unlikely nowadays

Hopewell Colliery cafe is apparently nice although I've never been in. But that has a large car park and everything is free admission bar the actual underground tours.. Hard to think of places with car parks that are open in winter round here.

Not sure if there's still free parking near tintern abbey, have a feeling it got turned into a pay and display but I've seen car groups there and it's nice and also really good road to it.
