The Scottish Italian Car Day is set to return in 2019!

This year’s event will be held on Sunday May 26th at Hopetoun House, South Queensferry (just outside Edinburgh) so please get the date in your diary!

Some of you may have attended car shows at this venue in the past and will be aware that it provides an excellent back-drop for the display of fine Italian machinery. What’s more, the large area of hard-standing and metalled access route means that presenting your car in tip-top condition should be trouble-free!

FS has been quiet for the last wee while (and I dare say Cupar being missing has been part of that!) so lets see if we can't get the gang back together and give our support? I know the orgnaisers are always looking for volunteers to give an hour or two of their time, so if you'd be interested in helping please let me know and I can pass on details to the organisers.

See you in May :D

Thanks! - even bigger road trip this year too having now moved south again!!
Now, just the small matter of getting a Panda working and legal again....How long have I got?

Not long enough if you're planning to get Grumbleweed back on the road and north from where you now are

It's a nice FF challenge though :chin:

Along with how many pandas can we get up to Scotland for SCID....

I will try and get along. :)

It'd be great to see you there (y)

Not too sure when we'll be where this summer. Relatives all over the place! I would really like to attend if possible and maybe put some faces to the posts I read on here. If pushed I guess I could just pay on the door at the last minute and come in for a wander around?

Definitely. Last minute shows can pay on the door and still be on the stand too so don't discount that either - the only rule for that is you need to be on site for 10 am if on the stand.

But certainly come and say hello wherever you are parked (y)

This may sound pretty dumb, but I'm used to attending motor sporting events auto jumbles and that sort of thing. I'm not used to this form of event. If I were to get there before 10am would you like to have Becky on your pitch - there's nothing special about her, bog standard (glass roof oooh!) with a few minor blemishes thrown in. Here she is:-

We are heavily into childminding (4 grandchildren - so far!) If I got there early enough, and you would like her on your pitch, would I be able to depart maybe around lunchtime? School/childminder pickup is often around 3.00pm so I'd need time to get back.
Kindest regards
Jock

SICD is a celebration of all Italian cars from the exotic to the everyday so yes, of course we'd like Becky on the stand. Hell, they let my ancient, battered, and standard Grande on there so she'll look great in comparison :worship:

However, if you do need to nip away after a few hours (bearing in mind it's on a Sunday) you might be better off in the main car park where it's easier to come and go. It's a bit of a pest to move cars from the stands once the general public are on site although doable in emergency.

Again, if you go for that option make sure you come and introduce yourself to whoever is loitering on the stand. We'll have the event shelter there so should be easy to spot - although it will be Fiat Scotland banners you'll need look out for as I don't think we have any Fiat Forum ones. But we are FF affiliated as Ben and Dom will confirm

Oh there I go being stupid again. Hadn't looked at the calendar so didn't clock that it's on a Sunday - Doh! (been retired for a while now and tend not to think of these things) That considerably improves the chances of being able to attend. Both my boys work Sunday shifts but Mums will be at home so childminding duties are much less likely to need factoring in.

Really hoping I can make this.
kind regards
Jock

I attended one of these and thought it was a good event and would support it again if it were to be resurrected, put me down as a supporter/helper, I have an old Maserati 3200 and can probably get support from the sportsmaserati forum for this even too.

Cracking - I'll let the organisers know - thanks very much!

You're more than welcome to join us :)

I don't think cars are 'locked in' like some shows - but I'll try and check and get back to you!
