Following the Great success of our last breakfast meet in April, at which we had over 40 various Italian cars in attendance, we are organising repeat events following the same format on the first Saturday of every other month over the summer and autumn (June, August, and October). We hope this will give some regularity to this informal meet.

The next meet will be held at 10am on Saturday the 3rd June, at The Departure Lounge Cafe, just outside Alton in northern Hampshire.

The cafe is a great venue for a breakfast meet, as it has a large solid field on which the owner lets us park so as to be all together and out of the main public car park.

The meet starts at 10am. It is open to any Italian car of any age, and we have had classics through to modern Alfas and Ferraris and everything in between. We would really like some more Fiats to add to the 131 Abarth, 595, Barchettas, and Coupes that have come so far.

Attendees have come from across the southern counties, with enthusiasts arranging their own convoys from Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, and Surrey or arriving independently.

The format is simple, we park up, chat to other owners and look at the cars on show, and have some breakfast if you want to. People usually drift away by lunchtime.

For those coming from southern Hampshire we meet by 08:30 in the car park of Sainsbury's at Junction 7 of the M27 (Hedge End), close to the petrol station, and then drive up in convoy. We often include a stop with a photo shoot on the way.

We would love to see you all again, or meet you for the first time if you haven’t been before. Please do also spread the word to other Italian marque forums or boards that you are part of.

Ross

Thanks Charlie,

I have been on Alfa Owner and PH for years, but despite owning a couple of Fiats as daily drivers, have only just joined FF.

Our informal meets started in a very low key way last year, but have really built up now, and are good fun for a chat with like minded owners.

The April meet was very busy. All the summer months tend to be hit-and-miss for people, but you can never accommodate everybody. Hope you can make it to one of them- we get people from Oxfordshire and Wiltshire- I think they meet up at Tot Hill on the A34 and convoy from there.

Best,
Ross

tot hill sounds promising..

any idea how the convoy is planned /arranged..??

Hi,

The Tot Hill chaps arrange it across several forums and social media platforms- as we are open to all Italian car marques, there is no central spot for organisation.

If you are on PH, then you can see one of the Tot Hill arrangement posts here:
PistonHeads » Gassing Station » Other Marques » Alfa Romeo, Fiat & Lancia - Saturday 3rd June Italian Car Breakfast, Southern England

I would have posted a link, but as I'm a newbie to FF, I'm not allowed!

I believe they meet at 08:45 in the McDonalds car park at the services there, departing around 09:00.

Hope that helps.
Ross

Great stuff. Let me know what you will be driving and I'll inform those meeting there to look out for you, unless you've already done so on PH.

thanks,
it'll be a FIAT...,
most likely either a Marea weekend, or a Punto TA..

but with the chance of an X1/9 - MOT pass pending..

hence the mention of "logistics.."

I'm not on other Italian CAR forums.. so I'll just see how it all pans out,

cheers,
Charlie

Thanks Charlie,

I'll let the Tot Hill chaps know to keep an eye out for a Fiat if you do make it.

An X1/9 is a rare sight these days - would be great if you can bring it.

Best,
Ross

Hi All

following on from Ross's update

If you want to come along and meet at Newbury we met at this McDonald at 0900hrs : -
Newbury Retail Park, Pinchington Ln, Newbury RG14 7HU

there is normally myself in an Alfa Romeo 916 Spider,
an Alfa Romeo 156 sportwagon,
last time we also had a Lotus ( I know very Italian!!) but hay still good looking car and one of the few with a worst reliability reputation that the Alfa/Fiat!! (Lotus stand for (Loads Of Trouble Usually Serious)) lol!
And not forgetting the Alfa Romeo Gulia QV, what a sound that v6 makes!!

so any Italian car welcome and I would love to see a X1/9 turn up as they are very rare and a lovely looking car.

so see you All who want join on Saturday @0900hrs (I'll keep an eye on this thread over the next week)

Alan

Hi Chaps,
Just to reiterate Alan's point above, it seems i was wrong about it being Tot Hill for the northern convoy, it is actually another McDonalds in Newbury...

"Ross, could you tell him it is not at Tot Hill McDonald that we are gathering, but the McDonalds at big Tesco in Retail Park?"

Dark red 156SW and Bright red 916 Spider will be there"

Hope you get that Charlie, I'd hate to be the cause of you being in the wrong place!

Best,
Ross
