MFI has a nice ring to it.

Like Northwest Italian Car Club is called NWICC we could be

Midlands Italian Car Club MICC, atleast it doesn't limit us to just Fiat, and Alfa's could turn up too....or a Ferrari if were really really lucky :p

MFI: flat-pack motoring...?! Sorry, didn't want to take the MICC...! ;)

I actually like both of these... -- just in a silly mood, because (i) it's sunny; and (ii) I've finally got rid of the blummin' flu...! :D

I'm slightly concerned that this could end up being cliquey, and involving far less forumers than I think we'd all hoped for.... :(

There was a lot of interest expressed in the other two threads that have been about a Midlands meet-up: so -- and I hope I'm not breaking protocol here... -- I've PM'd anyone that both (i) lives locally; and (ii) expressed an interest somewhere in those threads:
Sorry to PM you directly: but I'm trying to get the Midlands FIAT owners group off the ground; and so far had very little response to the Event listing for pizza, at the Coventry Arena, on Sunday 3 March; and, at some stage, you've shown an interest in one of the threads about this....

If you're still interested, please click on the link below my siggy, and add yourself as an attendee.

However, if you'd rather I didn't contact you again, feel free to let me know: and I'll leave you in peace.

Thanks for reading...
Hopefully, this will drum up some form of response (even if it's only to tell me to b*gg*r off...)! We shall see....

Any other suggestions welcome...! :worship:

Having a bit of a sleepless night (for a change...).

Would like to throw the following into the pot:

  1. MIDAS -- Midlands Italian Drivers And Supporters
  2. MIDlist -- Midlands Italian Drivers list :)
  3. MIDmost -- Midlands Italian Drivers (with the mostest)
  4. MIDwest -- Midlands Italian Drivers (West)
Would like to get the word "FIAT" in there; but have run out of ideas.... :(

Looks like I'll be there. Swmbo has said I can go out to play on the 3rd. :slayer:

To get the F in you could go for MIDF(est) Midland Italia Drivers Fiat ( eating, showing, talking)

I'll stick in my two penneth, feel free to ignore it seeing as I'm from Yorkshire :p

I don't like acronyms they are meaningless, keep it simple, name the group after what it is:

Yorkshire Italia is a great example of this :)

But if you do want an acronym

Midlands Italian Appreciation Social Society

MIASS

now you can kiss it :p

My thoughts exactly. Yorkshire Italia is exactly that, and Auto Italia is in general. The Midlands aught to follow suit IMO. When people search google for example to find something local to them, something like "Midlands Italian Car Meets" is what they will search. We aught to keep the name simple to something like Midlands Auto Italia, Midlands Italia, Midlands Italian Car Club ect ect. Something along those lines. It'll bring more people toward it from search engines, also it seems friendlier IMO than 'social society' or 'owners club'. We don't want to sound to fancy, atleast in the early days :) Want
benny279 - i'm banned from anywhere with bollards. By my own doing, that graze on my rear bumper is going to be a b***h to get out upon closer inspection

Plain M.I gets my vote. Midlands Italia.
