Hi Guys and Girls,

Ignore the date above! I'll change it later if anyone is interested, so its less onfusing.

I was wondering if anyone from Hampshire wanted to meet up and show off their cars and meet some forum members in the flesh?!

I don't know if there is already a monthly gathering or anything like that, so please point me in the right direction if there is.

I was thinking that either just the puntos (which I have) or just the pandas, or 500's etc could meet up one Sunday (perhaps) at a centralish location in Hampshire and have a get together for a drink and some food, then go off for a drive around? What would also be good is if it wasn't just a certain model that met, but everyone from the forum near Hampshire (or beyond!) that wants to, no matter what model you have.

I don't have any dates in mind as of yet, but I thought Portsdown Hill near Portsmouth might be a good place to meet? There is a nice view, Mick's Monster Burgers (which really are monstrous!) and a few nice roads to drive around.

What does anyone else think? I'm open to suggestions and dates etc, so it will be good to hear from you.

I live nr Basingstoke & would be happy to meet up at a pub for a chat etc, weekends are best for me as I work from 6pm - 9pm during the week.

apologies, i wasnt aware that anyone had replied to my post as i didnt get any notifications!

the meet doesnt have to be quite that far south, so if anyone has any more central suggestions thats fine by me! or maybe we could just check out melanabb's already established gathering???

post up what you think would be best, and apologies again for the slow response!!

cheers, Rob.

Hi Rob, if you go to the "Thread Tools" tab at top of page and then click on "subscribe to this event" then you should get alerts when someone adds a new post.

At the moment, the only local event organised is the Simply Italian Day at Beaulieu on 13/05/2012

https://www.fiatforum.com/events/295513-simply-italian-day-beaulieu.html

but we will be organising a treasure hunt/picnic event sometime in the summer and we always have a Xmas get together at ................... Christmas, lol.

You are more than welcome to join our little band at any of these events and hopefully some of us can reciprocate by attending yours.

Good luck, it makes the forum more personal when you have met members face to face. Also, if you get the time try to visit one of the official FF events as the experience is memorable.

Cheers

Tony

Thanks Tony, I'll do that now. Although I did just get an emai notification from your post. Weird.

Cool, I'll definitely have a look at that Beaulieu event, that might be quite fun.

Thanks for the invite to your gathering too :)

It's always nice to put faces to random names on forums! I look forward to hopefully meeting some of you soon :)

Thanks again, Rob.

Are they dates confirmed for a meeting at a pub etc in the Southampton / Basingstoke / Portsmouth areas..?

I'm in Hampshire, own a few (9) classic Pandas, may be interested in this so will watch the thread to see how things go (y).

The unit where I keep and work on my cars is bang in the middle of this area, can I offer it as an initial meeting place, loads of parking and a couple of nice pubs for food nearby. Postcode is SO32 3QY. There are other classic cars there which would be of interest to any petrol head, and I have a kettle ;)

If we met there initially about an hour before lunch we could then take a 15 min. drive to a carvery for lunch, then take a scenic tour of the lovely surrounding countryside, maybe down to the coast.

Can I also suggest Saturday or Sunday 21/22nd of April.

We could arrange a meeting here in Basingstoke as there is a KFC & MD's etc with loads of free car parking spaces:

Basingstoke’s Leisure Park is a mile west of the town centre.

Served by the green and pink buses from Basingstoke station, the Leisure Park offers a wide range of activities including ice skating, bingo and bowls. It is home to a multiplex cinema, a bowling alley and an exciting swimming facility.

Basingstoke Leisure Park, Churchill Way West, Basingstoke, Hants, RG21 6YR
How to get here

By road
The Leisure Park is well signposted from all directions on the ring road - follow the brown signs.

There is ample free car parking on site.

Hey, are you a mechanic? I live about about 10 minutes from where your unit is. Always useful to know local Fiat experts (y)
