Hi

I notice that most of those attending for 2 nights are doing Frid/Sat. We have a family committment Friday evening so any thoughts on our idea of arriving Sat am - staying Sat and Sun at whatever hotel is chosen. We could then spend Monday on the Island and travel back in the evening.

Basically what I'm asking is - am I missing anything obvious if I make this arrangement?

John

I'll be travelling down on the Friday evening, and coming home on the Monday.

Most likely crossing with Wightlink from Portsmouth, but may end up going the Southampton Red Funnel route. I'll have to work it out a bit closer to the date, as I don't know what's happening with work.

has 500 mod locked the other thread and put a link in it to this one?

is it now an open event for anyone who emails that address?
I am sure it got locked, with a link to this thread.

I still think it should remain a 500 event, but at least the correct section of the forum is being used now (y)

Oh dear

This thread seems to have lost momentum since being moved - only four responses and three of them are mine.

Where are you all?

I thought exactly the same thing! Must admit it took me a couple of days to realise it was here.

Excuse me being daft, but does being an open event mean it's no longer 500's only?

I think us 'mainlanders' ought to arrive in covoy, like an invasion force off a landing craft (car ferry).

So to that end, how about a list of who's going over when?

I also thought that if anyone was doing the Friday AM we could meet at the Little Chef at Popham (the Heston Blumenthal one) for a tasty breakfast.

Hi All
Just to give you some info about "The Isle of Wight 500 Fun Run" I was asked by some of the 500 owners here on the Island if we could arrange a meeting. They all had such a good time and asked if we could all get together again sometime, therefore this Fun Run came about. It then found it`s way on this Fiat Forum and developed from there, we didn`t realise that there would be so much interest, but we are really delighted how much it has snowballed. We are looking forward to seeing you and your cars in May, if we can help with any info please contact us and we will do our best to answer any questions.

When you have arranged which ferry you will be on, I can ask some of the Island Fiat 500 owners if they would meet you at the Island ferry Terminal in order to welcome you to the Island and drive along with you to your accommodation.

Regards
Tim and the Team

Sorry - can't make Friday

Looks like we'll be using Red Funnel from Southampton. We've always used Wightlink from Portsmouth in the past due to coming from Kent. The Sandringham Hotel does not deal with Wightlink.
If any of you have gone from Southampton - is it fairly straightforward to find and use - any tips. I have the post code for my satnav.

Cheers
