yes i told Hayley (who is on the forum under the name "The Corsa Owner") everything that happened yesterday, and how agusto moved my air filter to allow more induction to the engine, which is why the car feels punchier :)

We never said that we couldn't do it with the dodgy Motorola processor. What we didn't want to happen is that the ECU locks up. We had on case before and do not want to risk this happening again. Once the ECU locks up with this processor it can not be revived again. This is why we will have for the next rr session a new ECU available in case something undesirably happens.

Nice to meet everyone yesterday!

I was a bit miffed that my 1.6 could not be re-maped after a 200+ mile drive down there but thats life!

I've got Angel Tuning coming out today to meet me and remap it. He is sure that he will be able to do it, even with this strange Motorola CPU. :slayer: (y)

I'll let you all know.

Did you have the same problem as me mate?

Matt:)

Well I had a great morning, had my JTD remaped and it came out at 153bhp, i guess this will go up slightly as the ecu relearns but not great deal.

Otto of Red Dot was very professional and listened to my concerns about my car having 95000+ miles on
he advised that 150ish was as far as they would like to take it to keep the reliabilty although they could easily have got more out of it.

Final figures were 153 bhp and 201 ft-lb torque. The main benefit i can feel is the smoothness of the power upto 3500 much nicer.

What a fun drive home I had.

Hello to you all that i spoke to and apologies to those i didn't.

Hi Pete,

I'm not getting at you or Red Dot at all! Don’t take it that way. I had a good day and it was really good to meet everyone and see what my car was putting out on the dyno.

I was happy with your decision as I had a 200+ mile drive home so if it went tits up, I would have been stuffed!

Sorry if I came across the wrong way!

Matt :)

PS - Angel Tuning have now re-mapped my car and its fantastic! I'm going on a local dyno on Friday to see what it is putting out now. I'll let you know... :)

Hi mate, nice to speak to you, and thanks for the info about the grill and strut brace :) (y)

You dont have a eBay link to the same grill as you have got do you? I cant seem to find one on eBay...

Cheers :)

Re: Red dot

Red dot were doing the right thing and as any decent company would give the facts ..the processor on the ecu for the 1.6 stilo can become corrupted if you try to enter a log that it wont accept and by trying to remove the then corrupted log can fry the ecu .they didn't really want the situation of leaving an owner high and dry with a fried ecu and not being able to get home ..of course it can be done and will be but they will also have a back up ecu with them at the time of mapping should anything go wrong

Just to say, I totally agree (y)
