Just took delivery of my new Panda with B&M/techno pack in it.
It wouldn't find my phone (HTC One) via the USB slot, so figured it may have been built before B&M 6.0 was released and wondered if the update may allow it to find the phone - so ran the update, which went completely smoothly. Car clearly wasn't running B&M 6 as it took a good few minutes to update and install.

Then remembered about ecoDRIVE, and downloaded the app from the Play store - but that was pretty pointless as despite B&M 6 now being on the car, it still doesn't recognise the phone as a USB storage device.

I figured that it wasn't the end of the world - just use a USB stick and run ecoDRIVE from the PC. Downloaded the program onto the PC, reformatted the USB stick, put the ecoDRIVE stuiff onto the memory stick using the PC program, follow the instructions to install into the car...

...and get Error USB 10.

What's confusing me is that B&M/the car is clearly quite happy with the memory stick; it's what installed B&M 6.0 into the vehicle after all. New Panda is ecoDrive happy, as it's in the program and Fiat UK marketing mentions it etc etc.

Only thing I can think of is that latest version of ecoDRIVE and latest version of B&M don't want to play ball together... is this feasible? From what a good search of the 'net using all the various key terms together, it suggests it probably is as B&M/ecoDrive appear to be one of the most poorly supported things out there.

1. Anyone had any joy with B&M 6.0 and ecoDRIVE?
2. Anyone had any joy in overcoming the ERROR USB 10 problem when installing ecoDRIVE?
3. Anyone had any joy in getting a recent HTC phone to play ball with B&M and/or ecoDRIVE via USB? It syncs phonebook etc via bluetooth just fine, just won't get recognised as a media store over USB.

Cheers.

Welcome to the forum!

Please let us know if (and how) you manage to resolve this... -- I have a Panda TA on order, with B&M2 and the techno pack (like you); and would like to be aware of any quirks/pitfalls before trying to use it...! (I've already downloaded the manual: and, to be honest, I'm quite intimidated by it... -- even though I used to work on the support desk of a large IT company....)

Many thanks...! (y)

Cheers :)

I've now tried -two different phones (with the ecoDRIVE software in their root folder) and two different memory sticks. B&M isn't picking up on either phone via USB, and still getting USB Error 10 on both the memory sticks.

I'm wondering if the TomTom LIVE2 unit is what collects the ecoDRIVE data on the Panda - which is a problem as my LIVE2 satnav is currently sat at the dealership somewhere, they having forgotten to put it into the car before it went onto the low-loader for delivery to me. Should be with me next week hopefully, and will be able to see if that sorts the problem out then.

Will keep you posted!

In all other regards, the car is brilliant. It's a lease car from work (NHS) and is exactly what I need for the 2000 miles or so I do each month - compact, cheap to run and very nippy/fun when you drive it.

I'm pretty sure it is, I'm afraid... :(

That's good to hear! I can't wait for ours to arrive...! (y)

The answer to the HTC ONE(X,S and so on) plus the majority of Android handsets running gingerbread and above don't have mass storage mode anymore hence why it doesn't work as a USB drive. I've got an S3 and it works... only because its rooted and have an app called easy UMS.

Damn, just did a bit of reading up and it looks like that's the case. Might be time to root the One then. Cheers for the heads up.

The TomTom 2 LIVE unit arrived from the dealership yesterday (it'd been sent to their parts department rather than supplied with the car by Fiat). Sure enough, once you've plugged it in and paired it with the Blue&Me system in the car, EcoDrive is one of the options you can pull up from the menu.

Got to say that the B&M paired with the TomTom is a pretty good system. You Most of the features of an inbuilt satnav - like the fact you can control the media system through it, view the tripmeter and the like - but it's still a removable unit so you can take it inside to update it instead of having to faff around with a DVD or similar, and reduces the inducement for theft. No' bad really.
