Is there anything I should know or beware of when doing this. Battery I have is the original and getting a bit worn. I have spotted one for 85 euro in French Hpermarket which says on it that it will do for Ducato - size is also correct. Van has an alarm - is there any codes etc that I should be aware of when I disconnect old battery

Thanks

i have the same problem with my ducato 2.8 idTD.i removed the battery and the alarm and now the van is not starting.
the problem started when i was repairing the wiper arm linkage...when removing it i damaged the preheat box.replaced a diode and capacitor on the box.but at the same time removed the battery and alarm.
any help on how to disable the alarm or reset it?
thanks

So much for this forum, have to answer my own posts. I replaced the battery with the French Hypermarket one, once I got home to Ireland. No problems. I turned off the alarm using the key and the switch inside the engine just to be safe. Took out the old battery and put in the new one, no problems whatsoever.
Reckon I saved myself 30 euros on the battery.

By the way fully synthetic oil is about 40% of the price over there in the French Hypermarkets. Just did the oil and oil filter on the van yesterday after comming home.

For the last poster I reckon whatever you did to your wiper arm is your problem.
