I have a Ducato Maxi 2020 that I'm converting into a camper van.

I'm trying to figure out what the black air vent like things are behind the wheel well in the interior of the van. Pic attached. And whether to leave them in or not?

At a guess they will be to allow the air pressure wave to vent caused by shutting the doors car normally have one under the tailgate

When fresh air is drawn into a vehicle via the heating/ventiation system, there has to be an exit point. In cars this is often in the boot area.

The x244 had similar flap valve controlled exit points incorporated in the rear lamp lens assemblies. Fitting upholstery when converting to a PVC masks the rear corners, but there are numerous other vents and gas drop out points.

Here in France to get the van conversion approved it has to have a low point air vent of a certain size, so I'm thinking of using those rear vents that are already there.
