Hi, I've a while trying to find a workshop manual for my van. After a long search, the only one I could find was an image type PDF file written in German. Today I decided to go thorough a very laborious process of splitting the file into 20 smaller files and using optical character recognition to extract the text whilst still keeping the formatting and layout of the diagrams, I then fed each file one by one into a neural network translation service. Now I have a beautifully illustrated PDF written in perfect British English describing exactly how to carry out any work I would ever want to do on my van. I imagine there's probably loads of people out there who would benefit from this useful info, so I thought I'd share it, hope it helps. But it looks like I'm not allowed to post the URL to the file on my google drive until I've had at least 5 posts. So will post it a bit further down I guess.

Hi Rofor8, What years and models does your manual cover? I have searched for 14 years for one that covers a 1996 1.9td. If yours covers this van rock on with the posts. There are a lot of people looking. All the Best. Ian

A full translation of a workshop manual is a great achievment - Well Done!
Many Thanks for offering to share your new version
I would be very interested if it covers an x250 2009
How would we down load when available?

The work done by rofor8 is commendable, and there is much information made available due his efforts.

However having browsed the x244 version, I feel that it may be more appropriate to the x230, for the following reasons.

1. The Sofim 2.5 engine is frequently mentioned. According to Wikipedia this engine was not fitted on the x244. Also I advise agaist attempting to change a timing belt on an x244 (I have done this.) using this manual. Far better to use the guide produced by FreeSpirit.

2. More seriously, I cannot find any mention of the MLGU5 gearbox, which has reverse gear selection next to 1st. This gearbox was part of the x244 "facelift".

3. The initial desciption of the electrical system, and hence possibly more, seems to apply to the x230.

Hi

These are a useful resource, which I commend

However, the "X244" document appears to cover the X230 years up to 2002 but not the facelift X244 from 2002 to 2006. No doubt a lot was carried over, but not engines and gearboxes.

For some strange reason it has a cover image of an X250 - work that one out !

This is a fantastic achievement, thank you very much. We (in reality my better half) have been painstakingly working through the translation, with nowhere near such a polished outcome. I've only had a quick look so far but it looks like the same X230 manual (96 -02) that we have. Well done to you!

It was a great job converting them, the first one was a bit strange having a picture of an X250 on the cover, the original German version (Band1261)? I have of that manual that I posted links to in previous posts has a Ducato 2.5TDi X230 on the cover, seeing it has "RUTrackerORG" I assume it was done in Russia or somewhere & for some reason they have changed the cover picture??
It doesn't cover any of the JTD engines fitted to the X244 as it is covers the hard to get info on X230 models & engines from 94-2002.
If you need stuff on the X244 model the X244 eLearn is the one to get.
Cheers

interesting, ok well for now i'll rename the x244 file to x230 for want of something better to call it, not sure how to edit my original post to reflect this, but i guess people will find out when they click on it
