Hi, I am living in Italy an I bought a Ducato so I could bring my wife’s and my belongings down from Amsterdam.
I am from the US so I am completely unfamiliar with this van. I am, however, a pretty competent mechanic.
I have a few questions I hope people can answer for me.How do I tell if I have a 1.9 or a 2.5 Diesel engine?
There is a water hose that goes to the oil filter cooler and it is covered in oil. I want to replace it before I drive to Amsterdam this week but I can’t find a diagram anyplace to show to a parts shop.
I suspect it needs a valve cover gasket, as the top of the engine is spotless so it’s been cleaned recently.

Your engine size will be listed on your 'libretto'.

You should have the original which is stamped with the 'revisione' outcomes; the ministry of transport tests. Or at least a fotocopy if you are still waiting for papers to come back from your purchase.

Look for 'cilindrata cm3'. My 2500 is listed as 2445.

So I bought an 03 Ducato in the Netherlands, actually it’s my wife’s because she’s Dutch. Now I’m working on making that a furniture hauler…
