Hi

We have a 2012 Ducato 3.0l Diesel, 180 multijet automatic with 107k miles.

The engine light keeps coming on, ive done a code read and got code P0238 which points to high circuit on the boost pressure sensor.

I've replaced the Map/boost pressure sensor with a brand new bosch one and that didn't fix it.

Its had a new garret turbo that's done about 700 miles since being installed because the old one failed.

I've blanked the egr valve to see if that would fix it and it didn't.

I've installed a brand new Pierburg boost control solenoid and brand new vacuum lines and still the engine light remains.

The strange thing is that the Engine light will only pop on if its given full throttle.

if you drive it nicely then the engine light won't come one, which is strange.

I thought maybe at this point after exhausting all other potential problems , that it may be an electrical fault?

Apart from that I'm dumb founded with it and really need some help and advice as where to look at next.

Investigate how the boost pressure is controlled on your engine.
There could well be a problem with the system that controls the boost pressure.

I have already checked and replaced everything that controls the boost.
new turbo, new actuator, new vacuum lines, new boost control solenoid and a new map sensor.

Blanking off the egr is probably an issue. The ecu may see that as a fault. I had my 2012 3.0L Ducato egr mapped out which worked fine. With my Benz ML270, blanking off an egr throws a fault and limp mode. Fiat could be similar.

Ian.
