I hope someone can help. I have a 2012 Ducato Maxi and I'd like to get power to the 3 pin connector behind the RH rear pillar grill, just behind the rear light cluster. There are 3 wires: black/yellow, yellow and a black. It looks like it would be for a cigarette type power socket as there is a circular indent in the grill panel on the inside. I've searched and searched this forum and tried all the unused fuse/relays places I can think of but no luck. I downloaded the training manual, but the fuse box looks different than the one shown on in the manual. I hope someone can help

Rob,

FWIW, on the earlier x244, the rear current socket is an option, and is supplied via an ignition controlled relay, in the optional RH cab fuse panel.

Obviously the x250 will differ, but the earth for the rear socket appears to be at the rear, so worth testing for that.

I suspect that the yellow wire will be your live (+12V) connection, and the black/yellow is for the illumination. Again on the x244, there is a connector coupling the rear harness to the dash wiring. This is located roughly above the accelerator pedal (RHD assumed). Finding the correct connector under the dash can be problematical .

Your handbook may show the fuse location, (mine does for x244). Check with ignition on, and look for possible missing relay, that is a vacant position, but with socket inserts in position.

The fuse rating on the x244 is 20A (yellow).

In conclusion, what you need is an eLearn diagram for the optional "current socket"

My 2014 handbook shows the rear power socket connected into the door pillar fuse box F56 15A. It is possible one of the relays is associated with it that may or may not be fitted?

Thanks for the help. I got about this far and spent a while in the door pillar fuse box area, but whilst there are unused fuse and relay positions, they are not fully wired! Also, there is just half of what is shown in your diagram above - just one "bank" of relays and fuses... very frustrating as I think we are in the right area! None of the wires in that area seem to be the heavy yellow wire that is in the 3 spade socket...

It can be difficult because the 'options' fusebox in the door pillar is left by Fiat for convertors to add to when fitting bodies onto chassis.
I have no idea if this is correct for your model but the dvd manual I have shows that the 'Rear Current Socket' connects to F33 and relay T13 in the dash fuse box.
On the drawing attached P050 is the dash cigarette lighter, P051 the dash current socket and P052 is the rear current socket.

Thanks Once again guys. One of the issues I see, is my dash fuse box is not the same as the one in these documents - (1st X250 training manual), but is the same as the handbook. there are no fuses or relays missing that I can find that takes power to the aux plug at the back. chasing the wiring, it doesn't go to the bodybuilders plugs, but goes behind the dash fuse box and into the darkness from there...
