Hey forum friends<

We own a Duacato x250, 2007, 120HK multijet. 125Kkm

The cars runs well but smokes heavy when accelerate, white/grey smoke.
It seems to disappear or get less above 3000rpm, but is might be the speed that moves the smoke also..
The car does NOT lose any water, also the Oil level is constant.
It seems to use a bit more fuel then before.

We had the Timingbelt and waterpump changed recently, I am under the impression that this might be the problem.

I cannot see any faultcodes, also not lights come up, the car starts good, even when its cold.
When the timing belt is off, it should not run at all (I suppose?).
Unfortunately going back to the garage is not an option, they already made a bump in the car in the garage, so we are not on speaking terms :(

I would get the timing checked. If the belt is even one tooth out of alignment it could cause the problems you have. I hope the garage ensured it was the correct belt i.e. the correct number of teeth and size etc.

Hi Rayc, Is there any way to inspect this yourself ?

Look on you tube for video to change cam belt for your specific engine . A couple of cam belt manufacturers have videos.
Special locking tools are required to set the valve timing.

Unless you have the tools and experience find a good mechanic who knows what he/she is doing and has the special tools to check the work.

Good luck

Hi Wesphoto, i would like to know if you have more informations about your smoke?
I have exactly the same issue, light grey/whitesmoke on cold start, especially now in winter. Smoke when I accelerate until 2000rpm.
Smoke stop when motor is hot and I have no problem to start at cold (tried in mountain at -10°C).
