Hi Paul

I can't answer your question directly, but I can tell you how the wipers work in case it is of use to you.

There are two stalk switches, Switch 1 for Flick/Off/Intermittent/Normal/Fast and Switch 2 to set the interval when using Intermittent. I guess its the second one you are referring to ?

Both these switches use an arrangement which seems a bit odd at first sight. They select a different resistance value to ground for each position, which is then read by the body computer. The reason it's done this way is just to cut down the number of wires. The wires in question are White/Blue on Pin 26 of connector B of the body computer for Switch 1, and White/Red on Pin 1 of connector B for Switch 2. The common wire is Black/Violet (reference earth) and goes from both switches to Pin 9 of connector B of the body computer. If you want to test either switch (unplugged of course) with an ohmmeter, it should be 0, 220, 690 or 1990 ohms. If the stalk is good then check the wiring to the body computer.

The body computer works out what's needed from the switch position information, and sends an appropriate logic level signal to the "Speed 1" and"Speed 2" inputs on the Wiper Motor. Inside the Wiper motor are the logic circuits and relays for the motor. The wiper motor also has a 12V supply, a Ground, and a feedback signal to the body computer so that it knows if the wipers are in the parked position.
