Hi I’m new to the forum so this might have been asked before or the wrong section . I jump started the van while the key was left in the on position in the ignition. After starting it , the van wouldn’t turn off by the key I had to stall it . A engine lock light has come on and the engine turns over but won’t start any ideas on how I can get the fixed or bypassed ? Any help really appreciated. I’ve had all the fuses checked and the keys codings are both fine been checked .

You may need to have all the keys you have recoded to the imobiliser in the vehicle. An auto locksmith could be your friend here, as a decent one has special tools /software to extract the security codes required to reprogram keys from the immo unit.

What has happened to you is typical with honda imobilisers - it may be the same with your fiat.

Liamaw,

If you need further help, please read the sticky at the top of the Ducato home page, and answer varsecrazy's question as to the year of vehicle manufacture.

Without knowledge of the engine type, it is impossible for forum members to provide information specific to your vehicle.

A 2.8l Ducato can either be a 2.8idtd (pre 2000), or a 2.8jtd (post 2000) which can be further subdivided into xxx230, and xxx244 variants, as determined by the VIN.
