Hi All!

I'm new on the forum and this is my first post!
I am the happy owner of a L4H3 Ducato from 2014 that my wife and I are converting to a campervan.

The previous owner had the lock in the rear barn door changed, but it doesn't lock with the keyfob (anymore?). I wondered if that was normal behaviour or if they should lock along with the sliding door (and the rest of the van for that matter!)

If it should lock, would any of you have any idea where to look to get it to lock electrically again?

Thanks a lot for your time and help!

The wiring details will be available on Fiat eLearn for the X250, which is available free from the downloads section of this forum. eLearn contains much information, and the X250 version is in several compressed .rar files.

Thanks both for your replies!

I can't hear the solenoid but maybe I'm not listening in the right spot... I'll check it again. But the lock has its own key which makes me think it is probably not an original FIAT part and might be why it doesn't work... Fortunately he left the old one in the van so I should be able to plug it in and see whether that has any reaction...

I've downloaded the eLearn but unfortunately I'm on a Mac so it won't run. I'll give it a go on a virtual windows machine eventually!

Hi guys,

So I've had a look at the old lock, plugged it in and it doesn't make a noise nor move either. I checked the fuses and they were fine, and also the cables, and apart from being really dusty and grimy, they seem to be in good knick.

I'm not sure what could be wrong here... but I can say that the 12V cigarette lighter in the back by the light cluster doesn't work either. Could it be related?

You need either a kind member with eLearn for the X250, or that virtual windows machine for your MAC.

On eLearn for the x244, both the rear and sliding door locks, and rear power socket are shown as being routed through connector D127A, Right Rear/Optional Dashboard Coupling.

IF, x250 is same and sliding door locks OK, then unlikely to be D172A.

Hi all!

I found the problem and fixed it, so I thought I might share my findings with everyone in case someone gets a similar issue!

Turns out I didn't check the wires all the way, and the harness that goes from the C-pillar to the door had been ripped apart completely. I spliced the cables, added a bit of length from a repurposed harness from another car I had lying around (I made sure the gauges were the same or bigger) and installed the harness back and... tadaaaa! The door locks with the key fob.

So lesson learned - check your cables thoroughly.

Thanks for your help everyone!

PS: I'm not at home at the moment and only have my work machine, hence why I can't install a virtual machine. My personal laptop has Windows 10 on Parallels Desktop and FIATecuScan works a treat with an ELM327 ;)
