Hey thanks for the add... nice forum and I read that much my head is fried... lol

Any how.. my camper is 91 carioca which is the ducato I believe.. speedo stopped working.. read lots here but didn't find my answer.. speedo.. it's cable.. I've replaced the blue nylon drive gear but still nothing.. cable is fine .

I could drive down road tomorrow and it would work fine then stop at a junction an boom its stopped again ... any help ideas or fixes will be great thanks .. davy

This is just a guess...so not sure...

Unsure but do you have ABS?
Maybe related to an ABS sensor if you do?

or possible Speedo Gauge itself.

91 as I'm 1991?
Or is 91 the model of van if so what's middle year is the motorhome?

Get underneath where the diff housing is and look on top near the gearbox dipstick. The cable enters the gearbox near here and sometimes slips upwards so the square cable end isn't engaging in the square socket that drives it. Hence no speedo.

I had this trouble and eventually made a bracket out of steel strip with a hole in to attach to one of the long diff attachment studs and with a fork to press on the rubber cap and hold the cable in engagement.
