Hi All.
I have been crawling under my motorhome looking for the crank sensor.
2009 Ducato 3.0

Please can someone tell me where the crank sensor is so I can replace it?

Thank you .

Could you describe the location or post a picture please. Think mine needs attention as well, needs to goes at starting.

Could this be due to a problem with the camshaft sensor? If the crankshaft sensor was faulty, it seems reasonable to expect rough running, not just starting problems.

At startup my 2.8JTD the ECU uses the camshaft sensor to determine which stroke that the engine is on. Subsequent to starting, only the crankshaft sensor is used.

On another thread it was suggested that failing to start on the first throw was a typical symptom of a faulty crank sensor. Starts on the second attempt every time.

Renault kangoo- sometimes would start first time other times would only start second attempt- was faulty cam sensor . No fault codes showing.

Faulty crank sensor often rears its head as engine hard to start(or refuses to start ) when hot. Leave engine to cool down then engine starts fine. After starting no rough running at all.
