Tomorrow I'm going to try and take my motorhome out for a run (2017 2.3 Ducato) which hasn't moved since early March and nor have I started the engine.

Is there anything in particular I should do when starting up? Did I read somewhere to wait a few seconds after turning the key to let the oil pump prime up (or am I making that bit up)?

Fuel pump prime..

Oil is reliant on the engine rotating

4 months is nothing really..

Maybe depress the clutch pedal when cranking.. takes the gearbox load off the starter

Let it idle for 20 seconds and then on your way

Once in 3rd gear..on the level..light load
just kiss the brakes to make sure all is good

Do let us know how much you had missed driving

Yep...fuel pump prime would make more sense

Some of the older members warned me its loading the endfloat of a stationary crank
(Thankfully having never sat in a 'Triumph Acclaim' :HONDA) It has not cause any failures
