Thought i would spruce the mirror repeater units on the van as they looked a little sad , one being very dull and the other with hairline cracks due to battling with the local hedgerows ..!!

Ordered a pair of replacements from non -stop auto in Leicester, arrived this morning and went to fit , no ce marks or part #s , cheap plastic ill fitting mouldings , went to fit the bulb holder, instead of twist to lock the moulding is so bad that the bulb holder just rotates and does not lock and the bulb flaps about ....!!

Needless to say they are being returned ..!!

Ebay then wanted £4.30 to return them , contacted an Indian gentleman and am now trying to get a returns label as why should i have to pay carriage to return a crap product not fit for purpose .

So girls and boys , give these a big miss ...!!

I think that when they get parts back they have to refund what you paid to return the item not as described ie rubbish.
Ask ebay they are very helpful with unhappy buyers.
If you paid via PayPal you have another level of protection.

I don't know how much you paid but it's worth paying the return postage and getting your money back plus the return postage.

Good luck

I got mine from Bison Truck Parts via eBay when an oncoming driver took one out. £9.99 AFAIR and absolutely fine, albeit a pattern part. There are two types, one takes a clear bulb and has an internal amber lens, the other has no lens and takes an amber bulb so you need to check which type are on your van.

I.ve have had both types , these ones i,m about to return have a crown pressed on the moulding but are very poorly made .

Also be carefull when buying mirrors from Poland as these do not swivel around [ nearside ] as far as UK ones sourced do and the electric motors motors do not have enough travel to compensate , it would seem that lhd ARE different ..!!!

I've had hit & miss experience with eBay and aftermarket parts.
I use eBay heaps.

Recently, insisted on a return and refund for lower ball joint for my Ducato.
It bolted in place to the knuckle and fit the taper joint.
But it lasted 1 week. Design fault of the boot shape.
eBay seller selling SShi_te.

I insisted on a refund from the seller and to pay for a return label. They got huffy with me for their SSh_ite product.
EBay seller then decided to block me.

I did nothing wrong. Consumer law here was on my side.
Nice one eBay.
eBay do not protect the buyer very well by their own policy sometimes.

I use eBay often. It's far from perfect.

Hi Ice,

Wow that was rubbish product and ebay seller , thank you for the info.

If you paid by paypal could you escalate claim to PayPal?
I don't know what seller blocking you means.

I have always sent faulty items back even if I have had initially pay return so seller can't get away with it by saying item hasn't been returned.

Either way I am sorry you had bad experience plus having to change ball joint twice !

I am now very picky about aftermath parts and only go for after market named I trust.
There is a lot of crap out there.

Plus I fund PayPal via a credit card so if ebay then PayPal let me down I can ask credit card to step in too.

Best wishes

Jack and as a general comment...

As I said...I use eBay a lot....and I like it most of the time...

What people may not realise is Paypal operates differently per country.
The UK and US get a better deal with paypal being a small credit facility.

So paypal in those countries gives protection for internet payments for small amounts.
I know this because I lived in the UK and that's how it works there.

However, in Australia, paypal apply different terms and you have to operate it as a debit facility forcing you to link your actual bank account.
Some people are OK with that but you don't have a choice?

You must have a paypal account(mandatory) to use eBay here.
But I pay with my credit card....to get the points, protection, insurance etc.

Because I choose not to link my bank account, paypal also prevents me from using any credit in my paypal account...even though they are refunds of my money!
If someone manages to hack paypal accounts and there is a breach, the risk is different for the individual depending on which country they live in.

Paypal prevent me from buying anything online with my paypal credit!
It is actually my money...credited in my paypal account from refunds.
But this is a Paypal policy and is not some law.

Pretty sure this equates to theft or fraud and is illegal...at least here...as they block me using, getting or receiving my money by any form.

Am I happy with paypal?
A. Nooooooo!!!

And I did complain to paypal here but they were not interested in doing what should be right.
a case of Big company accountable to noone.

As for the eBay block.
An eBay seller can block an individual eBay buyer.
I requested a refund as the part purchased was not fit for the ducato.
The seller reluctantly gave me a refund but I had to argue for it.
They are trying to blame me.

I offer and still offer their dodgy part back as long as they pay for return postage. In this situation, I refuse to pay for the return postage.
I was polite. I did not threaten to sue them either although i was hopping mad as I had to do the whole ball joint job again after waiting months for the ball joint!

This is the second dodgy part I have had to send back to them. I did supply my VIN prior to purchase.
Reminder...Their dodgy ball joint part lasted all of 1 week and ball joint boot was totally the wrong shape boot so split!

They decided they would block me individually on eBay instead of send me a return envelope.
I definitely don't want their dodgy part but still have it....now off the vehicle.

Note. I have bought other parts from this mob. Some of their parts have been good!

Bottomline...They shouldn't be blocking their customer for their bad part supply issues.

I only found this out as i attempted to buy other parts off them later to support a national supplier during COVID19 only to discover they are blocking me! Go figure!!!????
I could have ordered parts off someone else.

I understand a business has a right to refuse to sell to a customer.
They are even allowed to refuse a local currency.

But what I didn't like was that eBay didn't directly tell me I was was being blocked.
There is no direct message from the seller or eBay telling you a seller has blocked you.
So they wasted about 45 mins of my time whilst I found it out.

I guess this is what -ve reviews are for on eBay?
Name and shame I guess.
